What Happened in April?

5

What a month!

It seems as though it flew by when in reality I look back and think, ‘hang on, that happened this month?!’

If I had to summarise the month of April in one world it would without a doubt be ‘travel’. I’ve been lucky enough to have planted my feet in 5 different cities in the past 30 days alone (London still counts right?). Barcelona, Lisbon, Edinburgh, London and as of this weekend, Paris. Lucky girl right!

Barcelona was an absolute dream although the weather had much to be desired! We were pleasantly greeted with glorious warm weather on our first day and utilised it in the best way possible: eating icy poles and walking up to Park Güell to admire the city. Unfortunately the weather didn’t hold up for the rest of our trip but ho hum! You win some, you lose some. You can read all about my time in Barcelona right here.

Lisbon was next on the list and it was unlike anywhere I had been before. The hilled landscape dotted with colourful tiled houses was incredible to see. As you may know, I have a weird obsession with cool doorways and Lisbon gave me my door porn fix. Everywhere you looked there was a new photo op. See all the pictures and read more about my time in Lisbon here.

Back to London and I have to admit I was slightly relieved. As much as I love to travel, I also love coming home and resting for a while. It’s amazing how tiring travelling can be, not that I’d have it any other way. The day after I arrived home my beautiful best friend visited me all the way from Perth! She was here for her birthday so we decided to celebrate by heading to the super cool, digitally interactive (yes, digitally interactive) restaurant called Inamo in Covent Garden. You’re able to order, check out the menu, see what the chefs are up to in the kitchen and even play interactive games all from a remote control on your table, so cool!

It wasn’t long before I jet off again, this time to beautiful Edinburgh. My friend and I had four days to take it all in and see what Edinburgh had to offer. We climbed hills and in the process learnt how unfit we were, ate haggis, went on a tour of the Scottish highlands, watched a live comedy show and froze our asses off (take note: even in Spring, Edinburgh is cold). Once we were back in London we decided to treat ourselves by enjoying afternoon tea at The Shard. Oh sweet baby Jesus, it was expensive but definitely an experience worth having. The food was not only aesthetically beautiful but kind to the taste buds as well, which is always welcomed.

Towards the end of the month I went to Independent Mind Body Soul Spa in Balham to celebrate their 11th birthday party. I was surrounded by gorgeous Aveda products, fabulous food, beautiful jewellery and all in such a relaxed atmosphere. I even got treated to a manicure to top it all off. What more can a girl want?
